No Man’s Land [VHS]

$7.69

With its synth-pop soundtrack and Eurotrash attitude, No Man’s Land is the slick 1987 equivalent of 2002’s The Fast and the Furious. Instead of Asian-import “rice rockets” and hip-hop street gear, it’s got Armani suits and Porsches–the latter being the specialty of ace car thief Ted Varrick, played by Charlie Sheen in a trashy break between the successes of Platoon and Wall Street. Fresh-faced D….

Winner of an astonishing, but not unprecedented zero Academy Awards, Airplane is arguably one of the funniest movies of all time. Long before The Naked Gun, Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, Jerry Zucker and come together to write this shameful comedy, which made the airline disaster movies prevalent in faking the 1970s. With a multiple voices with a wide range of experience from Hollywood, Broadway, and the NBA, Airplane follows the exploits of a series of characters such as Ted Striker (Robert Hays), Roger Murdock (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), and Otto The Inflatable) Pilot (as himself, all of them keep you laughing in the aisles for an hour plus.

When ex-fighter pilot Ted Striker from the hospital following the mental strain of his war experience, published, he decides to seek and again with the love of his life, Elaine Dickinson (Julie Hagerty), a woman who broke off their relationships with various problems Striker's (under a "drinking problem", that is, Striker's inability to Pour liquid into his mouth!) Is now a flight attendant Elaine in their claim, said that she never again got together with Ted. Not willing to take without an answer, and sure, he can prove that he is overcoming the problems of his past, followed by Ted Elaine on the run.

All goes well until several passengers ill be. Victims of spoiled food, almost all on the plane is on the brink of death as the pilots are going out. One of the few who is not sick, Ted is invited to the aircraft to land in their absence. But his haunting war memories and fear of flying harbingers of a major disaster. With the help of Elaine, Dr. Rumack (Leslie Nielsen), and Otto The Inflatable Pilot Ted has his fears and tries to bring the aircraft to a safe landing. Help him off the ground are Steven McCrosky (Lloyd Bridges) and Capt. Rex Kramer (Robert Stack), a military man familiar with the abilities of Ted Striker.

In the whole airplane in between are an endless number of one-liners, Oddities, wordplay dialogue, and crazy antics. This is a movie you maybe you need several times before you catch every major line, because the humor of each Scene to watch saturated fats. You will not find a single airplane in boredom. In fact, you can even learn a few disco moves from Ted and Elaine, all not to mention Capt. Oveur and his co-pilot Roger!

With a truly impressive cast for a spoof, cult comedy classic (Robert Stack, Lloyd Bridges, and Leslie Nielsen among others), will forever remain plane under the sacred elite of the best comedy film of all time. Unlike most modern-era comedies, which many of the trends reflect more and fashions of the day, seems to aircraft to new heights with each new generation to get introduced to it. Like Johnny Carson, beyond their wit and humor every level of American life, what a pleasant and ridiculous movies. As a result, a plane is no-brainer in the category of "must-see movies. If you do not have seen (to believe), then I would recommend you rent it immediately.

Zombie movies slip in and out of fashion, but it’s always a special occasion when the man who helped turn the undead into a worldwide phenomenon decides to add an installment to his ongoing saga of flesh-eating films. George A. Romero’s zombie movies have all appeared in different decades, beginning with NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD in 1968, DAWN OF THE DEAD in ‘78, and DAY OF THE DEAD in ‘85. Romero skipped the ’90s, but a zombie renaissance in the early 21st century (28 DAYS LATER, SHAUN OF THE DEAD) finds him back in the directors chair.Often seen as allegories for their times, Romero’s films have been connected to societal events such as the consumerism of the ’70s (DAWN OF THE DEAD) and the spread of the AIDS virus in the ’80s (DAY OF THE DEAD). With 2005’s LAND OF THE DEAD, Romero positions the bulk of his story in a giant skyscraper which houses the last humans left on the planet; although his intentions are foggy this time, LAND appears to be Romero’s commentary on the post-9/11 political landscape. The zombies only bother crews who venture outside the makeshift city for supplies, but the people are kept sedated by their leader, the irascible Kaufman (Dennis Hopper), who exaggerates their threat. What Kaufman doesn’t realize is that the zombies are learning skills they half-remember from their old selves, leading to some impressively blood-soaked scenes of tumult. In an unusual move for Romero, Hopper is joined by name actors such as John Leguizamo and Asia Argento. The film greatly benefits as a result, successfully portraying an atrophied civilization that has regressed to a primitive state, allowing its undead tormentors to sense that a free lunch may be just around the corner.
