Grunge was the Stone Temple Pilots’ stock-in-trade on their first two albums, but Tiny Music takes the group beyond such stylistic limitations. There’s still plenty of grinding, metallic alt-rock here, thanks to “Pop’s Love Suicide,” “Big Bang Baby,” and “Trippin’ on a Hole in a Paper Heart.” “Lady Picture Show” is a bracing blast of Beatlesesque pop, however, while “And So I Know” finds Weiland c…

As with Star Wars, the George Lucas-produced Indiana Jones trilogy was not just a plaything for kids but an act of nostalgic affection toward a lost phenomenon: the cliffhanging movie serials of the past. Episodic in structure and with fate hanging in the balance about every 10 minutes, the Jones features tapped into Lucas’s extremely profitable Star Wars formula of modernizing the look and feel o…

The Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) adventure after Raiders of the Lost Ark is more violent than its predecessor, but also looser, more imaginative, and finally more satisfying. Still organized like a series of connected cliffhangers, the story (set 10 years before Raiders) involves Indy’s attempted rescue of stolen children from a pagan cult. Director Steven Spielberg draws upon sundry cinematic in…

Jones Temple

For those who came of age in the 1980s in an era of consumerism and homogenous globalization, elegant, Indiana Jones was something of an idol. Return to a time when the jungles of South – America and the pyramids of Egypt were truly a world away, the Indiana Jones trilogy excited in us a sense of adventure, rarely seen before or since.

The popularity of the Indiana Jones films comes not only from the fact that they were addressed and some of the biggest Hollywood talent traded the day, but also from the fact that the films were classic adventures. They were swashbuckling epics, the ideal mix of adventure, intrigue and mystery, myth and mysticism permeated found.

This formula was clearly successful. The first Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark was the highest grossing film of 1981 and was nominated for eight Academy Awards (of which it won four). The next two installments, and the Temple of Doom The Last Crusade, it is nearly done so well, each winning a Oscar and grossing hundreds of millions of dollars.

Since 1989, but everything was still in front at the Indy. Despite regular calls for fourth film There were no developments in years. Rumors and hearsay surrounding plans for the fourth Indiana Jones film since 1995, when Last Crusade writer Jeffrey Boam was asked to To write a script.

Since then, several screenwriters and directors have tried over the project, including Chris Columbus (Home Alone), take M Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense) and Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption)-without success.

But finally, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Harrison Ford have a script by David Koepp (Spiderman, War of the Worlds), written accepted. In July 2006, Spielberg and Koepp were fine-tuning of the script in advance of the pre-production, expected to start them Beginning of 2007.

The question that is raised repeatedly by fans of the series in the next few years is: Will it be possible, the magic of the original Trilogy's new? Hollywood has come since the 1980s, and the public to demand a big budget CGI moves and dazzling visual effects. Despite awarded an Oscar for Visual Effects with Temple of Doom, the Board of the Indiana Jones movies was never in their special effects. In fact, the Temple of Doom by Lucas and Steven Spielberg was approved the visual effects-heavy than the trilogy, the disappointing box office performance of the three.

The biggest concern is, however, Harrison Ford age. Already in his 40s in Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ford at least 65 when filming begins on the fourth film. Even with the use of makeup, camera trickery and stuntmen, as it may be possible to remain faithful to to the original trilogy, when the star is old enough to have a pension?

Despite these concerns, but one thing is certain. Come the release date a couple of years now, we will see a sudden surge in sales of fedoras and whips. He likes old enough to qualify for a buss pass, but there's something about Indiana Jones, from places the child in us all.
