Slacker Uprising $7.59 In the past, Michael Moore films like FAHRENHEIT 9/11 and SICKO have grossed millions, but for his 2008 documentary, Moore made the radical move of offering his film online for free. SLACKER UPRISING chronicles Moore’s controversial efforts to bring out young voters, whom he affectionately calls “slackers,” on a 2004 tour through the battleground states. Though his first audience in his native state of Michigan numbered in the hundreds, soon the events were gathering up to 16,000 people. SLACKER UPRISING has a different feel than Moore’s previous efforts. It’s a little less polished, but there’s no less enthusiasm for the subject on Moore’s part. Even more than in his earlier films such as BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE, the director is clearly the star here. This documentary feels like a hybrid of a political film and a rockumentary, with celebrities as varied as Eddie Vedder, Viggo Mortensen, and Roseanne Barr all making appearances to show their support for the cause. However, it’s Moore who spends the most time on the stage, passionately pleading his anti-Bush case. George W. Bush comes across as just as much of a villain as he did in FAHRENHEIT 9/11, but the goal here isn’t to oust Bush. Instead, the film’s initial release was timed to come six weeks before the 2008 presidential election, and SLACKER UPRISING serves as a reminder of just how close the 2004 election was. It is 8000 BC An alien ship lands in a desert world, and a young boy is curious to find out what's inside. Fast forward to Egypt in 1928 Archaeologists discover a daughter of an ancient relic and her father reveals a big surprise, the Stargate. The time now is today, and Professor Daniel Jackson, played by James Spader is the question: "Who built the pyramids?" in his university classroom.
The scene now playing Colonel Jack O'Neil, played by Kurt Russell. Jack O'Neil said of his commander that he is again active duty and received a special task to fulfill. Back to Professor Daniel Jackson he receives a relic and a card from an older woman now in 1928 archaeologist. Professor Jackson examines the map of nature and tries to place icons on the threshold between to translate the world, now known as Stargate.
Professor Jackson has a bad translation of symbols on the Stargate, because he discovered that there is a "The Seventh Sign", which needs to be translated. Translated by Professor Jackson, "the seventh symbol", he, Colonel Jack O'Neil and a small, elite military team their first official tour of the Stargate. Since leaving a glimpse of the new world, they found nothing but sand, so the professor, and Colonel O'Neil and decide on his team camp for the night. Continue their trip in the morning, they discover these strange domesticated monsters like a cross between a camel and looking at a mammoth.
The team discover the desert people, and thanks to Professor Jackson in a position to interpret their language, take this all the desert people Team in. The professor translated ancient writings in the village of the desert people read about the history of the sun god Ra played by Jaye Davidson. Professor Jackson notes that the Sun Ra God was actually an alien who possessed the body of a young, inquisitive boy 8000 years ago.
The Professor and the military team constitute a further excursion into the desert, an ancient pyramid discovered and went inside. Greeted by unfriendly guards with animal masks on their heads, the guards wear the professor , and the defense team a throne room, where the view of the sun god Ra in flesh and blood, for the first time. The professor is able to translate Ra's words, Ra brings a military weapon in front of the professor, and Colonel O'Neil. The professor acknowledged that the colonel's mission to destroy the desert planet. While the Colonel and his team have brought a watery prison, Ra in conversation with the professor and tell him that he will send a military weapon through the Stargate and destroy the earth instead. Unfortunately, Ra had to face the desert people revolt and an attack on his pyramid. Ra decides to military weapon used by the Stargate to Earth to send, but the professor and the rescued Colonel O'Neil spoil his plans by destroying the weapon instead of his pyramid, to Ra.
FILM FACTS: Sandstorms have been re-created by 10 giant wind machines. Former Howard Hughes Spruce Goose airplane hangar was used for a film set. Filming was in the dunes conducted by Arizona, California, Colorado and New Mexico. 12,000 liters of water per day were sent, together with 12,000 pounds of ice. The cast of 1500 extras drank water and salt tablets to prevent dehydration from the 120-degree heat.
